I am a NEW YORK CITY Police Officer and would like to help my fellow officers as well as there families some how as they did during our citys rough times of 9/11. Please let me know how and if we can lend a hand?

You can receive more information about how you can help by contacting your Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC). You should be able to get in touch with them through your city hall or state capital. A DHS Memo detailing what you should do is posted on NAPO's website www.napo.org/Relief_Fund.htmThank you

If you have housing to offer, our brother and sister officers in the Southern States Police Benevolent Association (SSPBA) are coordinating officers who need help with officers (or the public) who have room for them and/or their families. Please see their website at www.sspba.org NAPO and SSPBA are working together to coordinate efforts in this regard. You can also call them at (800) 233-3506

I am a sergeant with a sheriff's department in California. I have a large home with extra bedrooms. I would be honored to take in a spouse and kids of one of the officers that had to evacuate his family. I know it has to be hard on those officers to be working nonstop and still worry about where his family is going to stay. They are welcome here in our home and he/she would not have to worry about them being taken care of. I know California is a long way from the disaster but we are here to help! I am a retired Federal worker. I have a small, lovely home and would would be so pleased to share it with a woman officer (and her child if she has one) until she gets situated with one of the Denver Metro Area police forces. I can get the child into school and do driving and child watching. I know none of you are going anywhere just yet because you are working so hard for your city and its people, but the time may come that some will need to settle elsewhere. Denver is a lovely place to live and you will be so welcome here. Contact me at: cd1944@earthlink.net
